Mission Statement
To meet people on their road to recovery and to equip them with the tools needed to enhance their quality of life. These tools include professional counseling, medical services, and a plan for sustainable success in their lives. We recognize addiction as a disease and are committed to treating it with a comprehensive approach.
Our Services
To provide a true circle of support in treatment we offer Medication Assisted Treatment, counseling, and psychosocial support to manage the treatment and recovery process. Detoxification can be a trying experience. This treatment option will allow you to continue with your life with minimal disruption. We use Suboxone and Buprenorphine products to address the physical needs of each patient in order to help stabilize their life as they progress in their recovery.
The Blue Ridge Addiction Medicine facility is a serene and confidential environment. Patients can rest assured that they will receive consistent and courteous treatment every step of the way in a private physician office setting. Safety and comfort are always of the utmost concern when treating opioid addiction. This process is aimed at helping you to find your freedom. The best is yet to come!
Ideal Candidates
Having an opioid addiction means that you are physically addicted to prescription painkillers or heroin. Common addictive drugs are oxycodone, hydrocodone, and fentanyl, also known by their brand names OxyContin, Vicodin, Percocet, and Actiq. After prolonged use of these drugs your body builds up a tolerance to them, and many times this leads to a dependence that can be extremely difficult and sometimes dangerous when you stop taking the drugs.
In certain cases, an addiction is severe enough that it requires in-patient treatment with more complex monitoring and administering practices. If you feel that you are experiencing a low to medium level of addiction, then Suboxone treatment and Blue Ridge Addiction Medicine may be a better fit for you.
Suboxone (Buprenorphine) treatment allows you to be evaluated in our outpatient facility and receive medication at your local pharmacy. You are able to embark on your recovery process in the comforts of your own home. Ideally, there will be minimal disruptions to your daily life.
We are now offering treatment with Vivitrol.
VIVITROL is an injectable form of naltrexone indicated for the treatment of alcohol dependence and/or prevention of relapse to opioid dependence, following opioid detoxification.
Cost
Initial Assessment Appointment – $280
This fee includes monthly meetings with Dr. Buzzanell or David McKee PA-C for med management, individual/group counseling and regular, random drug screens. We utilize “Point of Care” testing UDS cups in the office. Best practice care includes periodic confirmation at the lab. We partner with Paradigm Laboratory to conduct confirmations. UDS cups are sent to confirm. If you are insured, the lab will bill your insurance for UDS confirmation. Otherwise, you are responsible for the cost of confirmations conducted by the lab.
You will be required to have individual/group counseling once a month. If more counseling is recommended there will be a charge of $30 per therapy. Insurance is not accepted for this program. You will need to bring payment at the time of service.
How to Get Started
The first step in deciding if Suboxone/Vitriol/Sublocade is the right treatment option for you is to contact our knowledgeable staff. They will walk you through the process in an informative manner, obtain your background information, and determine if you would be an appropriate candidate for our practice.
Once you are accepted as a patient, you will be set up for an appointment at our office to be evaluated by Dr. Buzzanell and his staff. A plan of care will be established and detailed instructions will be given to you.
It is recommended that you do not work on your first day of treatment, as Dr. Buzzanell will be monitoring your reaction to it. You can expect to be seen multiple times in office the first week, and once the correct dosage is established, and you and Dr. Buzzanell are confident in your ability to correctly take the medication, the frequency of visits will decrease.
Blue Ridge Addiction Medicine will be there every step of the way, and will offer support, counseling, and detailed information. Your recovery is our primary concern, and we will do everything we can to help you achieve that.
